Although our residents are always excited to see something new come to town, very few pay attention to the good it can do for our local economy. Although everyone loves a good restaurant, we can all agree the City of Killeen is in drastic need of better local attractions. For the meantime, most locally owned businesses that were open in Killeen within the last decade have been restaurants. Of course, our town does have some awesome parks and summer attractions, but those options are quickly ruled out when it decides to rain or get cold in Central Texas.
Family attractions like arcades, go-carts, Top Golf, Spare Time, and other places would sure lighten up the family entertainment scene in Killeen. Just imagine the change in the number of local residents who would take a trip down south to Austin over the weekends for some fun. Additions like these are sure to save locals time and money on those trips while boosting the local economy. Even, updated bowling allies and skating rinks would prove beneficial to the area.

Our local residents are always excited when there are cheap things to do, especially for larger families, single parents, and other hard-working members of the community.

For example, comic book or camera stores. Residents today have to order online or drive down towards the Austin city limits to find the goods they want.

Adding or extending walking trails in our Killeen neighborhoods is a sure way to boost the local market slightly and the value of the homes. Paved trails are also a great way to encourage a healthy environment, keeping our locals active. Recently, the City of Killeen has started to implement these ideas into small neighborhoods, so you can rest assured that they will continue to do the same as time goes by.
School Activities
With the growth of the local school district, there are plenty of more opportunities for clubs and activities than there was 10 years ago. This includes educational and interest programs like STEM or Pokemon Clubs for those who are interested. Small gestures like these can have a positive impact on the future of our neighborhoods and homes in Killeen.

With a very large amount of area that has been untouched, the City of Killeen has plenty of potential of attracting large manufacturing companies into the area. Manufacturing companies are a great way to lure jobs into the city, which can really help out the local economy.
But while many residents are hoping for new job opportunities, there are plenty of present job opportunities in the Killeen, Belton, and Temple areas. Small local businesses and franchises alike have great job offers for local residents to take advantage of.

With an increase in population, there has also been an increase in the number of crimes committed across the city limits of Killeen. Increasing security in our local attractions is a great way to keep our citizens with a safe mindset.

If we were to limit the answer to this question down to one, it is simple. Making the additions mentioned above to the community will make Killeen more attractive to both locals and home seekers. Adding attractions, activities, jobs, and security within the city limit also makes current residents reconsider leaving town in the future.
